The River of Eternity
Flowing through the deepest folds of the human heart,
masking emotions -- beautiful, ugly, yet true,
the waters run cold, evil lurks within,
everyone knows, but few refuse its call.
Adventurers -- young, old, timid, and bold --
flock to the sinful, temptation-laden shores.
Lush grasses surround the banks, concealing
the truth behind the facade.
The journey seems long,
the hopeful shores withdraw from reach.
The travelers learn the secrets,
hiding love, hate, envy, gratitude,
almost without caring.
Realizing their plight,
they care,
striving to help
shed the masks.
Warmth fills the water, it runs clear,
no longer threatening.
An eternity of hope,
unbridled emotions.
